| Sessa Marine - The FlyRange Takes Off |
Thanks to a research lasting more than 3 years, Sessa Marine has entered the Flying-bridge market. A new range that revolutionises the concept of Flying-bridge yachts with great ideas and new solutions when compared with the market offer.
Sessa Marine ever stronger and innovative launches the "Fly range"! Thanks to a research lasting more than 3 years, Sessa Marine has entered the Flying-bridge market with its unique style consisting of quality, design and exclusive sophistication. A new range that revolutionises the concept of Flying-bridge yachts with great ideas and new solutions when compared with the market offer. The range consists of 4 yachts ranging from 45 to 70 feet that will be introduced over the next 4 years. The year 2009 will see the launch of a 52 feet with Volvo Ips 2 - 850 hpX2 engines. The name of the range is a surprise and will shortly be introduced to the press.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF A "premium level" CONCEPT. In-depth market analysis, careful research of new solutions to owner's demanding requests, development of a project that leaves nothing to Fate's control. The range was born to comprehend a specific engine choice, the management of the interiors, the refined details and the state-of-the-art technical solutions. Reassured by the long nautical experience in the different market areas, after the world awards for quality and design of its products, Sessa Marine is ready to face a new challenge and to fully enter the Flying-bridge sector.
Thanks to Volvo and to the Ips transmission, new opportunities have been created. By abandoning the axis lines, Sessa takes advantage of the great opportunity offered by the new and modern propulsions for a better management of the interiors and proposes a range of yachts with an easy handling, with high quality and refined finishes.
A DESIGN BETWEEN ART AND INSPIRATION. A range with flows of lines. The light that plays with colours, the care for details, an environment where you feel at home. Round edges and edges that stand for acting energy. Sessa Marine entrusted itself to Christian Grande, for years, yacht designer for the shipyard, whose work is distinguished by his obsessive attention to detail, by the high quality of the materials and to the finishes. Grande studied a new use of colour and the sharp corners, making the yacht more "muscular", able to transmit a positive feeling, a living yacht with real energy in its movements. White was chosen for the sharp corners and dark shades of bronze, black and metal for the rounded parts. The study of the light is another plus in the designer's work. The concept is that of turning the yacht into a 'domestic' environment that is lighter, open to the outside and, at the same time, more reassuring. The choice was that of designing a yacht with as many glass parts as possible. This was not just for purely aesthetic purposes but relates to the continuous search for light in the interiors.
THE FLY RANGE SYMBOL OF SESSA MARINE'S CREATIVITY. Inspiration has been drawn from the strong and waving elements of the 40's and 60's luxury cars' world. A superior deck very light and faded that does not reduce the sporty shape of the yacht. The kitchen - living is the centre of life on board. Greater emphasis has been given to the surface of windows. The interior colours stand for warmness and softness. Christian Grande together with Sessa Marine team say on this subject - "On the Fly Range it is easy to spot the same stylistic elements that characterise Sessa models of the new era: wide windows that continue throughout the deck, elements and materials linked to the forgotten "naval" world, from the rounded hatches joint together as a double window, to the converging toerail that create a bulwark. In the Fly Range we can find strong and waving elements taken from the world of luxury cars of the 30s and 40s that become peculiar elements of sport exclusive cars of the 60s, underlining the muscular character that gives shape to the craft and hard top of its Fly". And yet - "The shape, that is purposely thin and with a sporty character, perfectly integrates the new element: the superior open deck that gives name to the range, and that characterises itself for the structural and aesthetic lightness, with the purpose of not weighing the sporty shape of the yacht. Even for the functional layout they have been chosen non-conventional solutions, with a wide kitchen and living on the fly that becomes the centre of life on board. The colours for the entire range are those of the earth and of the cliffs, the sand and the rocks, charming and comfortable colours, ideal for Sessa product. Inside you can breath the outside, with feelings of warmness, cosiness, softness thanks to the precise choice of the materials, linen and in projecting the light and its interaction with the outside".
HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT. The Fly Range was born after the work of three Italian research centres. Through 3D technology, going from scale models to professional water tests. State-of-the-art technologies applied to the creation of high level pleasure yachts. The development of the Fly range was generated by a collaboration with 3 research Centres. Naval design of Naples specialised in the study of hulls, Centro stile Christian Grande of Parma for the design and the Centro Engineering Sessa Marine of Cortenuova (Bg)for the development and the definitive components of the product. As for all new Sessa projects, the Engineering centre created a scaled sailable model with tests in tanks. A second sailable model with real dimensions was made with tests at sea and, ultimately, a reconstruction of models that faithfully reproduce the internal and external volumes of the boat. A very high level of professionalism and many hours of study but also some curiosities. For examples, the technicians have elaborated and studied the design in 3D with special glasses, commenting on details and suggesting modifications and improvements.
HIGHLITGHTS ON THE FLY RANGE. A complete range from 45 to 70 feet; with IPS 2 and IPS 3 engines, wide living areas, crew areas, fully equipped bathrooms and kitchens. Sessa Marine's Fly range provides for 4 products over 4 years starting with a 52 footer in 2009. This will mount the Ips 2, 850 hp. In 2010, there will subsequently be the creation of a 60 footer with Ips 3, 1,100 hp. Later there will be an entry level of 45 feet and a 70 footer. The fundamental characteristics of the Fly Range make it a yacht fully equipped at a functional level with 2 kitchens on the different decks, with wide areas for the guests and the owner, with areas for the crew always foreseen, bathrooms for each cabin, easily accessible cockpits and hydraulic aft platforms.
A YACHT RANGE IDEAL FOR THE FAMILY BUT NOT ONLY. The 4 range yachts have a common characteristic: they aim at becoming the owner's house by the sea. The easy handling thanks to the IPS system and the elegance of the concept is perfect for an owner able to recognise "unique value" products. Thanks to the optimized division of the interiors between bathrooms, kitchens, cabins and living area, each yacht of the range was born with the objective of becoming a real house by the sea. The Fly range is mainly aimed at families.
The profile of the owner is that of a person who loves a yacht that lasts over time, very attentive in looking for stylish details that will distinguish him from all the others. That is why it is also suitable for a mature and expert owner. But not only. The low consumption, the low noise level, the ease of steering ensured by the Ips transmission, favour also a positioning in the range of owners with not much experience of life at sea.
Sessa Marine, always aiming for a service of total quality, will follow a direct commercial approach to "premium" clients, presenting the Fly range by means of a selection from its own European distribution network, that has moreover supported the research in making the yacht market valuable by assessing the project.
The first Sessa Fly, the first yacht of the range, will be presented to the public beginning with the Boat Shows of next Autumn.
